MIAMI — Edge Zones celebrates its 30th anniversary this fall with an exhibition and series of events reflecting on three decades of artists, experimentation, cultural exchange, and independent arts programming in Miami.
Opening October 10 at Edge Zones Art Center, the 30th Anniversary Exhibition brings together 30 Miami-based artists whose relationships with the organization span its history. Some have been part of Edge Zones since its earliest years, while others first exhibited with the organization more recently. Together, their work reflects not only the history of Edge Zones, but also the breadth, diversity, and continued evolution of Miami’s artistic community.
For three decades, Edge Zones has provided artists with a space to experiment, take risks, develop new work, and present practices that often exist outside traditional institutional frameworks. The anniversary exhibition looks back at that history while remaining rooted in what has always defined the organization: the artists themselves and the freedom to experiment, cross disciplines, and develop work outside conventional boundaries.
The exhibition brings together painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and interdisciplinary practices. Rather than presenting a single thematic narrative, it offers a broader reflection on the individual practices of the participating artists and the many artistic relationships that have developed through Edge Zones over the past 30 years.
All works in the exhibition will be included in a silent benefit auction supporting Edge Zones and its continued artist programs and cultural programming.
The anniversary celebration continues on Saturday, October 24, with the Edge Zones 30th Anniversary Celebration & Benefit Auction at Paradise Plaza in the Miami Design District. The evening will bring together artists, collectors, curators, cultural leaders, friends, and supporters for live performances, music, art, and a celebration of the community that has sustained Edge Zones over three decades. The evening will also recognize individuals whose support, collaboration, and commitment have contributed to the organization’s history and to Miami’s cultural community.
The exhibition returns to Edge Zones for its closing event on November 7, when the silent benefit auction will officially conclude.
