ZONES Contemporary Art Fair Miami 2007

The Zones Contemporary Art Fair Miami will take place in its second year, December 6 through 10, 2007, at Edge Zones, the World Arts Building in Wynwood.

This year, it will again be conveniently located next to Miami’s leading galleries and  the Rubell,  Margulis Collection  and the five neighboring  annual fairs.

ZONES Contemporary Art Fair Miami 2007, is issuing a call to artists, art run galleries and spaces and new art galleries to join us in creating a new fair infrastructure that will break free from the usual formats, and the predictable means of selling and exhibiting art.Edge Zones seeks to meet the expectations of a knowledgeable, international public as well as mirroring the contemporary contexts of artistic creation and art professional mediation and  networking.

ZONES anticipates a strong selection of qualified American, European, Latin American and Asian  galleries showcasing cutting-edge artists.  As it did last year, the fair will again showcase Videos, Paintings, Photos, Sculpture, and Performances by a selection of  established and emerging artists in an expanded space of 20,000 square feet. The entire building will be converted into an art Zone with an estimated total of 36 leading galleries from 24 different countries. This year, Zones  expects a total of more than 10,000 visitors.

In addition, Zones Contemporary Art Fair Miami will launch this year "TalkZones", a series of daily brunches, which will serve as networking spaces for art professionals.

The event, organized by Edge Zones, is an artistic project initiated by Miami artist Charo Oquet. Itis an urban fair that combines market and artistic practices as a mean to present an important reference point of Miami's art scene to an international public.

Edge Zones is a nonprofit institution dedicated to the research, conceptualization and execution of events that strengthen the contemporary art environment in Miami. EZ launches challenges against existing concepts while creating programs, which seek to allow artists to negotiate and demand new positions. Edge Zones introduce itself as clear exponents of a new cultural stage and seeks to expand the platforms through which new ideas can be elaborated, thus creating a place of investigation and process while assuming the responsibility that all experiments entail a great amount of risk. EZ organizes a regularly scheduled exhibition program, publishes books, catalogues and runs an internationally program through cultural exchanges since 2003.
